How to Get to Crouching Lion Hike and Where to Park for Crouching Lion – Oahu
Enter this Crouching Lion trailhead address into your Google Map: 52-180-52-204 Kamehameha Hwy
Where is the trailhead for Crouching Lion hike?
Once you park at 52-180-52-204 Kamehameha Hwy then walk approximately 500 meters back towards the Crouching Lion Inn. Please walk alongside the road carefully and against traffic so you can see the cars coming. They drive very fast alongside this road.
On your right you will see at speed limit sign first then you will see a ‘Do Not Pass’ sign then a dirt pass up through the trees. Again careful crossing the road.
How long is the Crouching Lion Hike?
The hike is about 30 – 45 minutes up and fairly easy! However, when it rains or when it had rained, the path becomes very slippy and muddy. Therefore, wear proper hiking shoes and boots and probably not your new shoes. Remember, when hiking always bring ample water and a sandwich and/or some fruit.
About the Crouching Lion Hike:
The Crouching Lion Hike is a great mini hike and it has spectacular views of Kahana Bay. The Crouching Lion Hike trailhead is also the trailhead for Pu’u Manamana. Pu’u Manamana is an extremely difficult hike and said to be the toughest in Oahu – please do not attempt if you’re not an expert hiker.
Here is @jenninaturally enjoying the views and letting the mud dry off her Keen boots
When you look away from the Pacific Ocean and Kahana Bay this is what you see! Up this massive ridge is Pu’u Manamana trail.
Can you see her on the top of the Crouching Lion?
Hiking partially up the start of Pu’u Manamana trail to get a better perspective
There’s always some nice hikers up there ready to help you take a photo!
My last shot heading down from Crouching Lion!
- Do not park on Troat Farm Rd. as it is a private road
- Pack more water than you think
- Pack a snack
- Be careful crossing the road
