DIY Natural Deodorant

Recipe:

3 tablespoon Coconut Oil

3 tablespoon Cornstarch

3 tablespoon Baking Soda

1 tablespoon Shea Butter

10-15 drops of essential oil of choice

I like to use vanilla bean essential oil for my deodorant but if you tend to have body odour issues or if you sweat a lot I would recommend an essential oil that helps kill odour and bacteria such as lavender, peppermint, rosemary, tea tree, lemon etc.

Instructions

Melt the coconut oil and shea butter in a pot on a low heat setting. As soon as it becomes liquified and creamy remove from the heat source and mix in the other ingredients. I would recommend adding the essential oils last and starting with 10 drops and adding more if you find it’s not strong enough for you.

You can add this mixture to a jar and apply under the arms as a cream or you can pour it into an old deodorant container if you like using a stick. Let it sit and solidify for a few hours. If you live in a hot climate you might want to refrigerate the mixture.
