Address: 197 Meserole Street, Brooklyn, NY
After our vegan brunch experience on the Upper West Side we thought to ourselves, why stop there? We need to explore other vegan brunch places! So we made the trek to Brooklyn to visit Champs Vegan Diner.
The setting was funky with typical diner booths and a black and white scheme. The waitresses that we had were really friendly and each of them had a really cool unique style which complimented the atmosphere. The place was laid back but pretty packed for a Tuesday morning, there was even a line- so plan to wait if you’re headed here on a weekend.
Sums up how you feel when you eat vegan
Thumbs up for bottomless coffee on a chilly fall day in Brooklyn
Since we’re huge on brunch (who isn’t really) we both opted for the
French Toast Slam
2 french toast wedges, tofu scramble, veggie or tempeh bacon, soysage, home fries
The veggie bacon tasted exactly like crispy bacon- it was pretty insane. The tofu scramble was perfect and the sweet french toast paired with the home fries were so filling and satisfied our craving for both savoury and sweet. This may not look like a ton of food, but trust me we were as full as can be; they got the portions sizes just right.
After our meal at Champs in Brooklyn we walked back to Manhattan. We definitely recommend to take the time to walk across the Brooklyn bridge while you’re in New York! It was one of our favourite experiences while were here.
